We will meet at the dirt parking lot next to Linky Stone Park at 9am. We will be riding from Linky stone park up to TR and back. We can stop for coffee or a snack in TR if anyone in the group wants. The total mileage for the ride will be about 20 miles. All levels are welcome. This is a fairly easy ride.
Also, just to get ya thinking about it, I know of three good places in T.R. that are reachable by bike:
1) Duke's Doggs <-- hot dog place, has veggie dogs, turkey dogs, etc. I'm a very familiar face here. RECOMMENDED
2) TR Oriental <-- next door, sit-down Chinese place. Probably not ideal.
3) The Cafe @ Williams Hardware <-- good food
There's also the Leopard Forest Cafe & the Trailside Creamery that I've never been to. It'll be a bit early for lunch, so probably none of these.
My favorite lunch spot on the Trail is the Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery or maybe it's the Swamp Rabbit Grocery & Cafe
I'm down with the Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery... although I'm wondering now why we're talking about lunch spots if we're going to start around 9:00, but whatever, figure it out as we go...
Jeff, I was just making a comment.
Btw, I expect to be bringing two others with me
It's gonna be intensely windy tomorrow... do me a favor, everyone promise not to listen to Bob Seger's classic "Against The Wind" tonight... :-) Since going with the wind (yay!) in one direction would mean a long hard trip the other way (nay), let's hope it's a cross-breeze, and that the wooded sections block most of it...
My recumbent tricycle has smaller wheels than a bike, so I found that I could not keep up with the Greenville Spinners, but maybe y'all are just going for a cruise and not a hard-and-fast workout. Either way, DO NOT let me hold anybody back-- go on ahead, I'll be fine, I've biked the Swamp Rabbit over 200 miles in the last 3 months... I typically make the northbound trip in about an hour and the southbound half about ten minutes faster than that...
