This all came together nicely. The addition of the pontoon boat support was great, since we could carry gear so that we had plenty of water and things to drink and firewood and all that. -

Simply AWESOME! After learning all my ex-friends are a bunch of total schmucks, it was a wake-up call to learn that there still ARE incredibly nice folks... who love being outdoors as much as I. 15 years ago, the motto of F.U.O.C. (Furman U. Outdoors Club) was "Get out while you can." We got out and then some! -

We could make this a longer run - there are a number of places to access a take-out along the river. This was a great length for the two young girls.

Quite a nice stroll through the woods with quite a nice group of people. And, Tyler, it worked out-- I got a ride home from two other people!

Good golly Miss Molly, I had a great time. The hike ended up being 6 miles, and surprisingly it ended up being no problem. (just watch out for those slippery puddles! that catching myself before my head hit anything was a MAJOR improvement over a couple of years ago) Met lots of friendly folks, and got to revisit a gorgeous nature reserve I'd forgotten about; -=apparently=- I've been sailing on Lake Jocassee several times before. Huh, yeah OK. This day restored my faith that us humans are NOT overrunning the planet...
